Cocktail bars are plentiful across New York City but some of the best are hidden gems. They break your heart. You wish you could sip them all day long but the best kind are found in the most expensive bars. It’ll be alright, just don’t check your bank balance.
Dear Irving
I just love the vibe in Dear Irving. It’s sort of an old-school New York kind of classy where you can chill out and catch up. Only downside is they don’t have vodka based cocktails on their menu, but they don’t mind switching it out for you.
Apotheke
They really put effort into their creations here and they’re so pretty! I mean, the bartenders wear lab coats. Dangerously delicious. It’s probably a good thing they put time into making them, it forces you to pace yourself.
Mother of Pearl
This spot is known for their wacky cocktails. It’s one of those Instagram finds that plays on your mind until you make a visit.
Pouring Ribbons
A quirky speakeasy with unique signature cocktails. Their menu is changed up frequently so they keep you coming back for more.
Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar
A great spot for sunset cocktails in the summer. It’s bright and spacious with gorgeous views for watching the sunset after a heavy work day. Their Loopy Pops are amazing and if you didn’t put yours on Insta, were you even there?
Death & Co
I’m sure you’ve heard of this place! Their cocktails are a fine art and the menu is so detailed, you really have to study it.
Thursday Kitchen
Their capri-booze cocktails are also quite dangerous. They’re too easy to drink and the alcohol percentage is actually quite high. Go hard or go home I guess!
Cienfuegos
This cuban themed spot in the East Village serves funky cocktails along with punch bowls for sharing. Perfect for a somewhat- tame night with the gang if you’re on a budget.
